Decision on Cheshire housing scheme deferred

by isleofman.com 19th October 2011

A Manx company's plans to build 168 homes on the site of a former tannery in Runcorn have been put on hold after a planning meeting opted to defer its decision.

Panscough Partnership wants to build the properties on the derelict former Martindale Fuels site on Halton Road.

The local council's planning committee met to hear the application and was told two councillors and 14 local residents had objected.

The decision was deferred after the committee heard concerns about congestion, safety, over-development and environmental issues.
