Dunlops ready to make Macau GP debuts

by isleofman.com 19th October 2011

One of the most famous surnames in road racing is set to make a return to the Macau Grand Prix next month.

Michael and William Dunlop have confirmed they will make their debuts at the event on November 19, following in the footsteps of their late father, Robert, who won there in 1989.

The 3.8 mile circuit around the streets of Macau is notorious for the steel barriers which line it, and William has revealed Robert never wanted his sons to ride there because of the dangers.

He said: 'My dad was never keen on us racing at Macau to be honest, but it's one of those things (and) the experience will be good.

'A crash is a crash on the roads no matter where it happens, but I'm not going over there to race hard, I'm going to enjoy the whole thing.'
