THREE charities in the Isle of Man have received a donation following the death of Manx Grand Prix rider Wayne Hamilton.
The Rob Vine Fund, The Southern 100 Helicopter Fund and the Manx Grand Prix Supporters Club Helicopter Fund have all received £300 each.
Wayne, 20, from Portadown in Northern Ireland was killed following an incident at the 13th milestone on the approach to Kirk Michael on August 29.
Following his death his family, friends and sponsors at Emerald Road Racing decided that any donations received in Wayne’s memory should be forwarded to the selected charities.
The three charities chosen are also the beneficiaries of the Road Racing Supporters website's 2012 calendar.
A statement issued by Emerald Road Racing and the Road Racing Supporters website said: "On behalf of all concerned may we thank everyone for their donations in commemorating this remarkable young man.
"We will continue to accept further donations in memory of Wayne via the roadracingsupporters.com website which will then be added to the proceeds of our fourth edition of the calendar."
A spokesperson for The Southern 100 Helicopter Fund said: "The committee of Southern 100 Racing wish to record their gratitude to all who donated money in memory of Wayne Hamilton and are humbled to receive such an amount towards the Southern 100 Helicopter Fund."
