A local commisioner says it's not worth holding by-elections in local authorities next month - as Island-wide elections are due next April.
By-elections have been called in Onchan, Ramsey, Michael and Braddan.
Several of those seats were left vacant when commissioners won seats in the House of Keys at the General Election.
David Talbot is a commissioner in Patrick. He says the authority could easily continue with one person down for a few months - saving ratepayers at least ?3,000 for holding a by-election.
