by isleofman.com 13th October 2011

EMERGENCY gas repairs will be carried out after a gas escape in Clifton Terrace, Douglas.

The work will mean Clifton Terrace/Ballaquayle Road will be closed - with parking suspended between the junction of Victoria Road and the entrance to Hutchinson Square - from 9.30am tomorrow (Friday).

The closure and parking suspension will remain in place until 5pm on Tuesday.

Engineering manager at Manx Gas Robert Gardner said: "This is an emergency situation and unfortunately cannot be left unattended.

"This will clearly cause delays for motorists in central Douglas and Manx Gas apologises for any inconvenience.

"We will make every effort to complete the work as soon as possible, giving full regard to the safety of the general public."

Anyone with any queries about the work should ring 644444.
