Attack accused due in court

A 30-year-old man, remanded in custody after an incident which has left a Castletown man in a UK hospital with serious head injuries, is due back in court this morning (Tuesday).

Matthew Smith-Williams of Malew Street is accused of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent after an offence in the centre of Castletown last Wednesday evening.

He’s due before the Deputy High Bailiff.

Forty-two year-old Robert Lee Quinney, also of Malew Street, was transferred to Walton from Noble’s Hospital on Friday following the alleged attack.
