Blues night a success

by isleofman.com 9th October 2011

A CONCERT to raise funds for the Big Wheel Blues Festival was a big success.

Music fans packed the Institute in Laxey last night (Saturday) to see some of the Island's best blues and roots music musicians in action.

There were performances from Blue John and Papa Cass, Stalking Heads, The McLeans and the Big Wheel Blues Band.

Festival chairman John Barker told the audience the concerts could become a regular event with different bands playing.

Next year's Big Wheel Blues Festival will be held back in Laxey - this year it took place in Douglas due to the unavailability of the Pavilion in Laxey Glen Gardens which is the festival's regular venue.
