Eight goal thriller has it all!

by isleofman.com 8th October 2011

An eight goal thriller, a last minute penalty flick and a fantastic comeback were the highlights in the game of the day in the Wi-Manx Mixed Premier Division on Saturday.

Bacchas B and Vikings A drew 4-4 but that was only half of the story.

In a blistering start, Bacchas B led 3-0 after just 10 minutes before Vikings A launched an impressive fightback and eventually clawed their way back and took a 4-3 lead before a last minute penalty flicks earned Bacchas B a share of the spoils.

A hat-trick from Sean Corlett and one from Karl Moore secured Bacchas B the point and, although Sarah Breen, Conor Byrne, Juan Corlett and Andy Harding were on target in a performance full of character, Vikings A will be disappointed.

Elsewhere, it’s as you were at the top.

Champions Bacchas A were 8-1 winners over bottom club Saracens Sabres.

Jamie Brown (three), Jonny Callow (two), Phil Goddard, Sharon Pope and Andy Vernon-Browne were on the scoresheet with Steve Cottier netting the Saracens consolation.

Second placed Valkyrs A showed no mercy for their B team in an 11-0 romp.

Greg Miller and Ollie Webster both hit four with Chris Caldwell (two) and Julian Colley scoring the others.

The surprise of the day saw Ramsey A defeat Celts 3-1 to end Celts’ outside title chances.
