WORK to re-surface Castletown bypass will begin on Monday (October 10).
The road will be improved between its junctions with Arbory Road and Malew Road.
The bypass - which is a section of the A5 Douglas to Port Erin road - will remain open to traffic as the work will be carried out by closing one lane at a time with traffic controlled by temporary traffic lights.
These will be in operation between 9.15am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
The Department of Infrastructure said: "The works are likely to cause minor delay to drivers, however, subject to the weather conditions, the work will be completed within two weeks.
"The department would be grateful if drivers would remain patient and considerate and bear in mind that one person's road is another person's work place.
"The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.
"If drivers wish to avoid the work then an alternative route is via A5 Douglas Rd, A7 Bridge Rd and Ballabeg.
"The department hopes that users will see a marked improvement in the road surface upon completion of the works."
