Police thank Castletown public for their patience following incident

POLICE have thanked the people of Castletown for their patience as they carried out forensic work yesterday (Thursday).

 

Bank Street and Malew Street were closed following a serious incident which took place on Wednesday evening and left a 42 year old man with serious head injuries.

 

The man remains in a serious condition in Noble's Hospital following the incident which happened at around 6.15pm.

 

Roads reopened in the town just after 4pm yesterday after police had finished conducting enquiries.

 

A 35 year old man who was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning has been released from police custody and no further action will be taken.

 

Police have arrested a 30 year old man who is presently in police headquarters.

 

A police spokesperson said: "Police are grateful for the patience shown by local residents and traders whilst valuable evidence was collected."
