THE annual rate of inflation as  measured by the Retail Prices Index (RPI) decreased from 6.8 per cent in August to 5.9 per cent in September.

The annual rate of inflation excluding housing costs shown by the RPI also showed a decrease from 7.6 per cent in August to 6.6 per cent in September.

The annual rate of inflation shown by the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) stood at 5.9 per cent in September compared to 6.7 per cent in August.
