Douglas kept their head of steam going in South Lancashire and Cheshire Division Two with a fine 49-31 win away at Oswestry. The eight tries scored by the visitors also secured a bonus point.

Will Latta's fine form continued, as he bagged a hattrick for Douglas. There were also tries from Bryn Snellgrove, Andy Evans, Christian Brew, Ryan Maddox and Carl Markle-Ferns. The remainder of the Douglas points came from the boot of Bryn Snellgrove.

Ramsey almost slipped up at home to Trentham but clung on to earn two points in a 13-13 draw. The vistors actually led 13-3 at half-time with Fintan Cummins' penalty the only reward for the home fans. In the second half Ali Trace's try got Ramsey back into it with Cummins adding the conversion and another penalty to level the scores.

Vagabonds too held on for a draw, away at Dukinfield. Ross McCulloch and Liam Kinley both crossed for tries for Vagabonds with their remaining points coming from the trusty boot of Jonny Beckley.

Southern Nomads took the honours in the top of the table clash in the Manx Shield, beating Vagabonds B 34-15 at Ballafletcher.Vagas led early on through a Ryan Windell penalty and a Mike Caley try, converted by Windell. Nomads showed their Shield pedigree though, and hit back with two tries from left wing Andy Lean, plus a penalty and a conversion from stand off Duncan Miller, to lead 15-10. As half-time approached, Nomads killed the game off with two quick tries from Glen Buckley and Rob Keelan, the latter converted by Duncan Miller for a 27-10 half-time lead.

Vagas briefly fought back in the second half with Brian Quinn picking up a try, but a later score from Ian Hargreaves, converted by Miller, was enough to seal the win and keep Nomads at the top of the pile.

In the only other Manx Shield game, Emerging Nomads crashed 5-52 at home to Ramsey B. Dion Meechan picked up Nomads' consolation try. For Ramsey, there was a hattrick for Daniel Bonwick, a brace for Ben Harding and single tries from Henry Doran, Jim Lantry and Chris Hardisty. Dan Bonwick also kicked five conversions and Tom Moss one.
