Language, culture and music celebration

by isleofman.com 1st October 2011

The 2011 Cooish is getting under way today (Saturday).

The event is an annual celebration of the Isle of Man's language, culture and music.

There's an information and fun day at the Villa Marina Arcade from 11am to 4pm, to let people know what's going on.

Then tomorrow (Sunday), there will be a talk from Chris Moseley, who works at University College London.

Manx language officer for the Manx Heritage Foundation Adrian Cain says should be particularly interesting (listen to audio file below):

The Cooish continues throughout the week.
