New face in Castletown as Ronan tops the poll

RICHARD Ronan has been elected as the new MHK for Castletown polling 520 votes.

 

The former Castltetown Commissioner will replace the previous Castletown MHK Tony Brown who has retired from politics.

 

It was a close run race in the ancient capital with school teacher Jason Moorhouse taking second place polling 479 votes and pharmacist Mahendra Patel in third with 280 votes.

 

The constituency of Michael also knew ahead of tonight that it would be getting a new MHK. Alfred Cannan was elected and will take over the seat from his father David Cannan.
