Social Care Minister becomes first casualty of General Election

SOCIAL Care Minister Martyn Quayle has become the first casualty of this year's General Election.

 

The Middle MHK who had represented the constituency since 2001 lost his seat to Howard Quayle, the former president of the Manx National Farmers' Union.

 

Martyn Quayle polled 466 votes to Howard Quayle's 922. Paul Craine came second with 560 votes.

 

He is the only candidate standing for re-election to have lost his seat so far this evening.
