Blake performance to raise money for Junior Achievement Isle of Man

by isleofman.com 28th September 2011

CLASSICAL boyband Blake will be performing at the Villa Marina later this year in aid of Junior Achievement Isle of Man.

They will bring their mix of classical and pop songs to the Island on Friday, December 9.

Consisting of Ollie Baines, Humphrey Berney, Stephen Bowman and Jules Knight, Blake saw their first album go straight to number one in the UK classical album chart in 2007 and hit number one in the UK pop album chart.

Junior Achievement chief executive Sue Cook said: "Blake's already sold more than half a million albums and are making their name around the world, so clearly they're showing great entrepreneurial spirit as well as musical talent.

"This has a special appeal to us as Junior Achievement is a charity working to develop the next generation of entrepreneurs.

"But even more appealing, though, is the fact that Dame Shirley Bassey, for whom Blake performed at her 70th birthday celebrations, is quoted as saying they're 'handsome boys with divine voices,' reason enough to book your ticket right now."

Each year Junior Achievement needs to raise £300,000 to fund its work.

Tickets for An Evening with Blake are priced from £29.50. To book visit www.villagaiety.com
