ONCHAN is one of the two constituencies, out of the 15, that has three seats.
There are 6143 constituents living in Onchan and there are six candidates standing for election.
They are Adrian Earnshaw, Zac Hall, Peter Karran, June Kelly, David Quirk and Brian Stowell.
Here is a closer look at the candidates:
Adrian Earnshaw – Sitting Member
Sitting member Adrian Earnshaw is standing for re-election in Onchan as an independent candidate.
He has represented the constituency since 2001 and is the current Minister for the Department of Home Affairs.
During his political career he has also served as Minister for the Department of Tourism and Leisure and as a Political Member for the Department's of Local Government and the Environment and Health and Social Security.
Speaking about his reasons for standing for election he said: "Ahead of us lie major challenges which involve accepting responsibility, making decisions and taking action and I am comfortable with and have extensive experience in these areas."
On a national level his priorities include the economy, health, tourism and the roads. At constituency level his priorities include continuing a working relationship with Onchan Commissioners and supporting and assisting constituents.
Zac Hall - Challenger
Zac Hall is standing for election in Onchan as a Liberal Vannin Party candidate.
He is a qualified airline pilot and works as a senior first officer for Eastern Airways.
Speaking about his decision to stand for election he said: "Working tirelessly alongside Peter Karran and the Liberal Vannin team, I will never give up on the people I stand for, on the changes I will push for, and on the future I want for all our children."
The Liberal Vannin Party's priorities include the Freedom of Information Act, the economy, health and social care and a military covenant.
Peter Karran – Sitting Member
Sitting member Peter Karran is standing for re-election in Onchan as a Liberal Vannin Party candidate.
He is the party leader and has represented Onchan since 1985.
Speaking about why he was standing for re-election he said: "To continue the good work that I have been doing over the last 26 years to turn it into an inclusive not exclusive society."
On a national level his priorities include bringing about good governance to protect services. At constituency level his priorities include housing, facilities for the youth and creating a retail environment in Onchan.
June Kelly – Challenger
June Kelly, chairperson of Onchan Commissioners, is standing for election in Onchan as an independent candidate.
She has 30 years experience in nursing and is currently a health visitor in the Island.
Speaking about her reasons for standing for election she said: "I have daily experience of how government decisions impact on family life. I believe that the current government is too male dominated and not focused enough on local peoples issues."
On a national level her priorities include finance, health, education and tourism. At constituency level her priorities include more local authority housing, recycling and the bus service.
David Quirk – Sitting Member
Sitting member David Quirk is standing for re-election in Onchan as an independent candidate.
He has represented the constituency since 2006 and during his political career has been a political member of a number of departments including Transport, Trade and Industry, Education and Children and Infrastructure.
Speaking about standing for re-election he said: "I believe passionately about protecting our Island and Manx way of life. I focus on both my local constituency and wider government responsibilities across the Island, working conscientiously for the benefit of all."
On a national level his priorities include economic development, education, health and law and order. At constituency level his priorities include sheltered accommodation, recycling, police and abandoned vehicles.
Brian Stowell – Challenger
Brian Stowell, a businessman, is standing as an independent candidate in Onchan.
He is the former chairman of Onchan Commissioners having stepped down in May to focus on the election.
Speaking about standing for election he said: "The Island is in desperate need of leadership with experience of business and common sense. If we continue to elect MHKs because they are 'nice' people then the future is very black indeed."
On a national level his priorities include the economy, the Island's relationship with the UK, MHK pay and law and order. At constituency level his priorities include working closely with the local authorities.
