Oldest patient attends opening of surgery

The new Peel Medical Centre had its official opening this afternoon (Friday).

The occasion celebrated the completion of the facility, which came into use in February.

The ceremony gave various officials a chance to see the surgery up and running.

Those invited included Norman Barron, the oldest patient at the centre, who is 102.

He said being asked to attend was a lovely surprise (first part of audio file):
