DOUGLAS North is one of four Douglas constituencies and has 4149 constituents and two seats.
The area includes Noble's Park, Glencrutchery Road, Willaston and the houses beyond Johnny Watterson's lane.
Four candidates in total are standing for election in Douglas East. They are Theo Fleurbaay, Bill Henderson, Peter Hill and John Houghton.
Here is a closer look at the candidates:
Theo Fleurbaay - Challenger
Theo Fleurbaay, a hotelier and businessman, is standing as an independent candidate for Douglas North.
He is originally from Holland and moved to the Isle of Man 13 years ago. He is also the founder of the Manx Hospitality Partnership.
Giving his reasons for standing for election Theo said: "As a nation's biggest asset is its people we have to ensure that we are able to continue to protect and improve those services essential to the wellbeing of the Island's people for now and in the future."
On a national level his priorities include reducing costs, increasing revenue, protecting vital services and maintaining quality of life. At constituency level his priorities are improving quality of housing, town improvement schemes, bus services and police presence.
Bill Henderson – Sitting Member
Bill Henderson is a sitting member of Douglas North and will stand for re-election as an independent candidate.
He has been one of the two MHKs for Douglas North since 1998 and is also the current chairman of the Office of Fair Trading.
Giving his reasons for re-standing for election Bill said: "Over the past few years the Island has had to face some of the worst challenges in its political history, causing social unease and very real concern among its people."
On a national level his priorities include government cutbacks, health, education and more Island autonomy. At constituency level his priorities include road safety, buses, housing and street lighting.
Peter Hill – Challenger
Peter Hill is standing for election in Douglas North as a Liberal Vannin Candidate.
He spent 25 years of his career serving in the Metropolitan Police Force and moved to the Isle of Man 10 years ago.
Peter is currently clerk to Lonan Commissioners and deputy clerk to Laxey Commissioners.
Explaining his reasons for standing for election he said: "The time has come for change. If we are all to share in the nation's future prosperity there must be a representative political system."
The Liberal Vannin Party's priorities include the Freedom of Information Act, the economy, health and social care and a military covenant.
John Houghton – Sitting Member
John Houghton is a sitting member of Douglas North and will stand for re-election as an independent candidate.
He has been a Douglas North MHK since 1996 and during his political career has served as a Political Member in the Department's of Local Government and Environment, Health and Social Security and Education. He is the current chairman of the Civil Service Commission.
John says he wants to be elected to "continue my work bringing about necessary changes to the benefit of Manx residents".
On a national level his priorities include the VAT sharing agreement, economic development, light industries and public sector pensions. At constituency level his priority is to support constituents to the best of his ability.
