THE constituency of Ayre, in the north of the Island, is made up of Bride, Andreas and Lezayre.
It has 2191 constituents and one seat.
There are three candidates standing for election in Ayre. They are Pat Ayres, Andrew Newington-Bridges and Eddie Teare.
Here is a closer look at the candidates:
Pat Ayres – Challenger
Pat Ayres, a semi-retired transport manager, is standing as a Liberal Vannin Party candidate.
He said he wants to be elected as an MHK for Ayre "to be part of a team that gets the House of Keys working for the people of the Isle of Man again".
On a national level his priorities include unemployment, work permit legislation and the Freedom of Information Act. At constituency level his priorities include agriculture, planning and housing.
Andrew Newington-Bridges – Challenger
Andrew Newington-Bridges is standing as an independent candidate for Ayre.
His career has involved international business, manufacturing, marketing and sales and he moved to the Isle of Man 22 years ago.
Andrew is a former member of the Arbory Commissioners and a former chairman of the Isle of Man Municipal Association.
Speaking about his reasons for standing for election he said he wanted to use his "considerable experience in business and local government to protect our way of life at the local, national and international level, to safeguard our future and to negotiate robustly with those that would bring detrimental change to our Island."
Andrew says there are three areas which he feels need equal attention in the House of Keys and Tywnald – local constituency matters, national government and international relations and discussions, understandings and agreements.
Eddie Teare – Sitting Member
Eddie Teare has been the MHK for Ayre for the last seven years following his election in 2004.
He is an independent candidate and wishes to be re-elected to "maintain the enviable quality of life that we enjoy and to protect the vulnerable sectors of our society".
During his career in politics he has served as chairman of the Manx Electricity Authority and has been the Minister for the Department of Health and Social Security and is currently the Minister for the Department of Education and Children.
On a national level his priorities include health and education and the size of the public sector. At constituency level his priorities include encouraging investment in the north of the Island.
