Isle of Man's budding poets encouraged to celebrate National Poetry Day

by isleofman.com 21st September 2011

NATIONAL Poetry Day will be celebrated in the Isle of Man in October when the Henry Bloom Noble Library plays host to the Isle of Man Poetry Society.

Society members will celebrate the day by sharing their best loved poems with the public, while budding poets are invited to bring along their favourite poem to be read out at the event.

To encourage would-be poets of all ages, the event has free admission, but tickets must be collected in advance from the ground-floor counter of the library.

The event will start at 7.45pm on Thursday October 6 and finish at 9.30pm. Refreshments will be available.

Further details are available from the Henry Bloom Noble Library, 10 Victoria Street, Douglas. Telephone 696461.
