Wildlife Park hosting go free weekend

by isleofman.com 20th September 2011

CURRAGHS Wildlife Park is hosting a free weekend for children on Saturday and Sunday.

Children under 16 years of age will be able to gain free entry to the park in Ballaugh when accompanied by an adult.

Tina Jauncey, the park's duty manager, said: "Autumn is a lovely time in the park with the leaves crunching and rustling underfoot.

"As the leaves start falling from the trees there are increased opportunities to see some of the park's more secretive animals.

"As an added benefit the new sitatunga antelope exhibit has also been completed and the animals can be seen from a raised viewing platform located in the African area.

"Most of the animals on show in the park have evolved over the centuries to cope with the wet conditions and they are often more active at this time of the year preparing themselves for the coming winter."

The wildlife park is open between 10am and 6pm.
