by isleofman.com 20th September 2011

THE first of four Douglas House of Keys requisition meetings will take place tonight (Tuesday) when the candidates for the constituency of North Douglas will face voters in Willaston Methodist Hall.

A capacity audience is expected and some tough questioning is anticipated for the four candidates seeking two seats to represent the area.

The candidates are Theo Fleurbaay, Bill Henderson, Peter Hill and John Houghton.

Two more requisition meetings will be staged tomorrow evening (Wednesday) for West Douglas at All Saints’ Church Hall and for East Douglas at the Manx Legion Club, Market Hill.

Candidates for the two seats for West Douglas are Geoff Corkish, John Shimmin, John Skinner and Chris Thomas.

The six candidates for East Douglas are Brenda Cannell, John Karran, Richard Kissack, Paul Moulton, Geraldine O’Neill and Chris Robertshaw,

The fourth requisition meeting for the South Douglas constituency will be held next Wednesday, September 25, just two days before the election. Candidates for the two seats are Kate Beecroft, David Cretney and Bill Malarkey.

All four meetings will begin at 7 pm and end no later than 9.30 pm. All of the requisition meetings are expected to be full to capacity, so organisers have advised early arrival to ensure admission.

The three remaining Douglas constituency requisition meetings will be held as follows:-

WEST DOUGLAS: All Saints’ Church Hall – Wednesday, September 21.

EAST DOUGLAS: Manx Legion Club, Market Hill – Wednesday September 21.
