The man who knocked Adele’s album off the top of the UK charts will present a petition against an Isle of Man company’s plans.
Example, the rapper and singer behind Playing in the Shadows, is leading a campaign to block Oakmayne Properties’ proposals for a 41-storey block of flats next to the Ministry of Sound in London.
The world-famous nightclub says if the Douglas-based firm builds the 255 apartments, complaints from residents could lead to it losing its licence.
Later, the artist who’s scored two number one singles this year, will hand over a 25,000 signature petition to Southwark Council.
Example is joined by fellow music stars Armin van Buuren, Judge Jules and Wretch 32 who are all objecting to the plans.
They’ve also started a poster campaign in the area around the nightclub to highlight its value to the local economy.
And the club’s lawyers have written to the local authority threatening court action if the venue’s future is threatened.
Southwark Council’s planning committee is due to consider the planning application next month.
