Former English Rugby Football Union chairman and Isle of Man resident Cliff Brittle has died after a long battle with cancer.
It's been announced he passed away at Isle of Man Hospice on Sunday.
He moved to the Island in 1987, following the sale of the plant hire business he ran with his brother in Stoke-on-Trent.
After decades of involvement in the game Mr Brittle took the top job in English rugby in 1996, holding it for two years.
It was a period which coincided with the birth of professionalism in the sport.
His funeral will take place at 2pm on Friday, September 23 at Douglas Borough Crematorium.
Donations can be made to the Isle of Man Hospice.
A memorial service will be held in England at a later date.
