Four batteries were stolen from the vehicles, which belonged to the construction firm Stuart Blackley Construction Ltd, sometime between Friday and today.

The batteries are 19 inches long and seven inches wide and have a black cover. They are much larger than normal car batteries.

At the time of the theft the lorries were being kept in an outdoor storage facility in the west of the Island. The exact location of which has not been revealed.
