GRANT Halsall proved the Isle of Man team can take on the world's best by winning a silver medal in the men's 200 metre backstroke at the Commonwealth Youth Games yesterday (Friday).
New Zealand's Corey Main took gold with a time of 1:55.44 while Grant finished 1:57.29.
Bronze went to South African swimmer Christopher Van de Sande with a time of 1:59.21.
Grant's success is the host nation's first and only medal of the games so far.
