THE annual rate of inflation as measured by the Retail Prices Index (RPI) increased from 6.4 per cent in July to 6.8 per cent in August.

The annual rate of inflation excluding housing costs shown by the RPI also increased from seven per cent to 7.6 per cent in August.

The annual rate of inflation shown by the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) stood at 6.7 per cent in August – up from 6.1 per cent in July.
