by isleofman.com 6th September 2011

DARTH Vader and the Stormtroopers will be invading the Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas on Saturday (September 10).

A Star Wars Day is being held - in conjunction with HMV and Modeltech - to celebrate the impending release of all six Star Wars films on Blu-ray.

The fun will start at 11am with numerous events throughout the day.

There will be a colouring competition from 11am to 4pm which is open to children 10 years old and younger. Darth Vader will judge it at 4pm and there will be Star Wars prizes from Modeltech up for grabs.

A Star Wars PlayStation3 gaming competition will also take place from 11am to 4pm when the game will be the prize.

Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers will be at the centre between 3pm and 4pm and fans will have their chance to have their picture taken with them.

And at 3.45pm there will be a best dressed Star Wars character competition - again judged by Darth Vader - with the full set of the Star Wars films on Blu-ray up for grabs.

From 11am to 4pm there will also be Star Wars themed face painting.

The Star Wars films will be released for the first time in the Blu-ray format on Monday (September 12) and are available for pre-order.
