A SET of stamps to commemorate the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Island has been released by Isle of Man Post Office.
The miniature sheet of eight stamps shows the games mascot Tosha and the official CYG2011 logo together with Tosha participating in each of the seven sports that will feature in the games.
The stamps are also available as a first day cover and in a commemorative presentation pack.
A special 'Opening Ceremony' gold foiled envelope, which has a limited run of 500 copies, is also available.
The Isle of Man Treasury has minted a special two pound coin that will go into general circulation in the Island during the games.
The coin also features Tosha as well as the CYG2011 logo on one side with the Lord of Mann, Queen Elizabeth II, on the reverse.
A pocket size gift pack is available priced at £5. There has been a very small mint run so they are likely to be a highly sought after item.
Regent Street Post Office will be transformed into CYG20011 Official Post Office during the games with all the staff wearing games uniform and the building both inside and out decorated to extend a warm welcome to all the athletes, officials and supporters to the Island.
Dot Tilbury of the Isle of Man's Philatelic Bureau said: "We wanted to create lasting souvenirs and mementoes of the Commonwealth Youth Games 2011 on the Isle of Man and to commemorate the fact that this prestigious event is taking place on the Isle of Man.
"The Isle of Man Post Office is delighted to make a positive contribution to the overall success of the games."
The Commonwealth Youth Games run from this Thursday (September 8) to Monday (September 12).
