Paddy's Fish of the Week - Haddock Fillet

by isleofman.com 5th September 2011

THIS week Paddy's has chosen haddock fillet as the Fish of the Week.

All about haddock…

Haddock is a mild white fish similar in appearance and taste to cod although it is usually smaller.

It has a firm white flesh and can be distinguished by the dark streak that runs down its back and the two black marks either side of its gills.

To cook haddock simply…

Haddock is one of the best tasting saltwater fish. Why not coat in a herb crumb and gently pan fry or bake?

Haddock is also delicious when cooked 'en papillote' in seal and cook bags. It goes especially well with garlic and herb butter or butter, capers and lemons.

If you would like any tips or advice on cooking haddock fillets visit the Paddy's fish counter in Shoprite, Victoria Road in Douglas.

Until Sunday, September 11, haddock fillet will be £5.62 per lb. There will also be a sampling session at the Paddy's counter this Saturday.
