FILMS in Peel will launch its new season by screening a film shot in the Isle of Man.
The autumn programme of films will begin on Wednesday, September 14, with the comedy/crime film Wild Target.
It stars Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt and Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and was filmed on location in the Island.
Films in Peel is run by volunteers and is now in its third year.
Jenny Oliver, a committee member for Films in Peel, described how the films are chosen. She said: "Some are suggestions from supporters, others are films we chose because they have an Isle of Man connection, had excellent reviews, or had not been shown yet on the big screen on the Isle of Man. So as usual an eclectic programme with something for everyone we hope."
Other films on the autumn programme include Benda Bilili! (2010) on September 28 – a subtitled documentary about a group of African musicians from the streets of Kinshasa in the Congo and Never Let Me Go (2010) on October 12 which is based on a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro.
These will be followed by Attack the Block (2011) which is a critically acclaimed low budget British movie about a teenage gang in South London and Ghostgirl (2010) – a short film by independent film maker Dave Armstrong.
Multi award winning foreign film A Separation (2011) will follow on November 16. This subtitled film tells the story of a couple living in Iran dealing with relationships, family and illness.
The Busby Berkeley musical The Gang's All Here (1943) will be shown on December 14 and Toy Story 3 (2010) will be screened on December 21.
Tickets for all films are £4 full price and £3 for concessions. They are available two weeks in advance from Celtic Gold in Peel.
