Crutchlow crashes in MotoGP qualifying

by isleofman.com 3rd September 2011

RAMSEY resident Cal Crutchlow crashed out of the MotoGP qualifying session at the San Marino GP this afternoon (Saturday).

The low-speed crash happened towards the end of the session but he had already put in a number of laps so will start 13th on the grid for tomorrow's race.

Cal - who is in his first year as a MotoGP rider - has had a mixed season riding for the Tech 3 Yamaha team.

Australian Casey Stoner, riding for the factory Repsol Honda squad, secured pole position.

He is currently leading the championship and is aiming to win his second MotoGP title this season.
