A week to go to Youth Games opening

The first delegate for the Commonwealth Youth Games has arrived in the Isle of Man.

The opening ceremony is now a week away, and team managers will be arriving every day from now on, with the first big squad of athletes, New Zealand, due on Sunday.

Chairman of the Commonwealth Youth Games organising committee Geoff Karran says, while there are still some last minute jobs to do, a huge army of volunteers is ready to swing into action (first part of audio file):

Mr Karran says, as well as being a great festival of high level sport, the games will really help to put the Isle of Man on the map, throughout the Commonwealth (second part of audio file):
