An inquest has heard a Manx Grand Prix competitor died from head injuries after crashing in practice last week (August 24.)
Neil Anthony Kent, 49, sustained massive brain trauma after coming off his machine at Greeba Bridge.
Mr Kent from Boston in Lincolnshire was taken to Noble's Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The electician shopkeeper had been racing on the Island for many years and won last year's Lightweight MGP.
Coroner of Inquests, Jane Hughes, adjourned the inquest to a date to be confirmed and expressed condolences to Mr Kent's family and friends.
