Motorists urged to be patient following delayed Manx Grand Prix racing

by isleofman.com 31st August 2011

MOTORISTS have been asked to be patient when trying to get home this evening (Wednesday).

The Manx Grand Prix races have been delayed this morning due to the weather and as such it is anticipated that they will carry on into this evening.

The TT Course will be re-opened between 5pm and 6pm to allow the public to get home before roads close again until 9pm.

Police motorcyclists and neighbourhood officers will be on duty at various points around the course to assist with the flow of traffic.

Sergeant Pete Dyer from the Roads Policing Unit said: "The roads will be busy and I ask that the public be patient during the rush hour period. We will be doing everything that we can in order to assist with the free flow of traffic."
