THREE Risso's dolphins that are frequently spotted in waters around the Isle of Man have been put up for adoption.
It's part of a new Adopt a Dolphin scheme organised by the Manx Wildlife Trust and the Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch to help conserve the Island's wildlife.
Members of the public have the chance to sponsor either General Muck, Goblin or Graihagh for a year.
General Muck is believed to be a male dolphin because of his size and many scars. He is usually found being sociable in a group with lots of other dolphins.
Goblin is also believed to be a male dolphin because of his many scars. He is usually one of the most inquisitive dolphins who approaches the research boat first.
Graihagh has been seen with a calf so it believed that she is a female dolphin. She is described as brave as she is not scared of bringing her calf near to the boat.
The money raised through the Adopt a Dolphin scheme will be used by the Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch and the Manx Wildlife Trust to carry out marine conservation work and to conduct more research into the dolphins around the Isle of Man.
Adopting a dolphin costs £30 for the year and this includes an information pack about Risso's dolphins including the best places around the Island to see them and information about your chosen dolphin. Adopters will also receive a twice yearly update about their chosen dolphin, a cuddly Risso's dolphin and a personalised certificate of adoption.
