by isleofman.com 25th August 2011

TWO Manx cheeses have won awards at the International Cheese Awards which were held in Nantwich in Cheshire.

Isle of Man Creamery's Druidale Cheese with Apricots won silver and the Ploughman's Pickle cheese won bronze after being judged by a panel from the dairy industry.

The cheeses beat off competition from more than 3,000 others from around the world.

Rob Evans, sales director at Isle of Man Creamery, said: "What an amazing result for the creamery.

"Our new Druidale Cheese with Apricots was loved by everyone at the show and we are delighted that it has done so well.

"Well done to everyone at the creamery for all their hard work and dedication."

Richard Paul, the show chairman, said: "We had 3,700 entries in all, which is a record, and the standard across the board was extremely high – our panel of 150 judges really did have their work cut out to make their selections."
