by isleofman.com 24th August 2011

Isle of Man ladies tennis champion Laura Feely has won two titles at the Manchester Open.

After a fairly easy passage to the semi-finals in the Under-18s, she had to fight hard to beat Bethan Taylor for a place in the final.

She lost the first set 2/6 but battled back to take the second 6/3.

In a championship tie-break she fought back from 2/6 down to win the match 11/9.

Laura then demolished Phillipa Fulchini in the final 6/1, 6/0.

She also made the final of the Ladies Singles after a 6/1, 6/2 success over Claire Wallace in the last four.

She took the title with a straight sets 6/1, 6/1 success against Yuki Yanai.
