Candidate highlights importance of diversification

by isleofman.com 24th August 2011

A candidate in next month's general election says he doesn't believe the Isle of Man is over-dependent on the finance sector.

Dentist Leslie Hanson is one of five people who are contesting the single seat in Peel.

He believes money spent by the Manx government should be kept on the Island.

He also thinks the Island should promote its expertise in areas other than finance (listen to audio file below):

There are five candidates in Peel so far, the others being local commissioners Rodger Gimbert and Raymond Harmer, outgoing MHK Tim Crookall and businessman Arran Kaighin.
