A general election candidate believes her background in teaching, business and languages would stand her in good stead for government.

Geraldine O'Neill, who is contesting the two-seat constituency of East Douglas, was born in the Isle of Man and educated in Ireland.

She returned to Manx shores 14 years ago and has since worked in secondary schools, now specialising in teaching English as a second language.

Mrs O'Neil says she has developed a range of competencies during her career (listen to audio file below):

There are four other candidates in East Douglas so far, challengers Richard Kissack and Paul Moulton, and outgoing MHKs Brenda Cannell and Chris Robertshaw.
