A local man who was left with brain damage in a road accident has gone to Germany to undergo pioneering stem cell treatment.
Paraplegic Chris Walmsey was hit by a car five years ago and is now being cared for in a Ballasalla residential home.
The 33-year-old and family members made the journey in a specially equipped motorhome, ahead of the first day of treatment tomorrow (Monday).
His mother, Carol Walmsey is amazed they managed to raise ?27,000 for the treatment in only four months:
