Alleged heroin importer due in court

A 35-year-old man from the Liverpool area charged with importing a large quantity of heroin into the Isle of Man is due in court in Douglas today (Saturday).

The man, who hasn't been named ahead of his court appearance, was arrested in Castletown on Wednesday.

The Class A drug seized had a street value of ?28,000.

Yesterday, police a said a 41-year-old man from the south of the Isle of Man remained under arrest and was helping their enquiries.
