Two players get Lords reward

by isleofman.com 18th August 2011

Local cricketers Gareth Morris and Akkie van den Berg have won tickets to the CB40 one-day final at Lords, together with flights and accomodation.

In June, Isle of Man Bank and Isle of Man Services Limited put up the prize for the Man of the Match Award in the game against the MCC.

Unfortunately, the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled, but judges decided to reward the best players in the recent ICC Europe Division Two Championship in Belgium.

Morris hit 287 runs at an average of 57, including a superb 141 against Cyprus.

Van den Berg turned in a top class bowling performance with two four-wicket hauls.
