Repairs after gas leak force part closure of busy Douglas road

by isleofman.com 17th August 2011

MANX Gas has been forced to shut part of a busy Douglas road to carry out repair work following a gas escape.

From tomorrow (Thursday) motorists will be stopped from turning left from Finch Road onto Prospect Hill.

This left turn restriction will be in place until Monday evening.

Robert Gardner, engineering manager at Manx Gas, said: "This will clearly cause delays for motorists in central Douglas and Manx Gas apologises for any inconvenience. We will make every effort to complete the work as soon as possible giving full regard to the safety of the general public."

Motorists travelling along Finch Road will still be able to use the right hand lane to turn up Prospect Hill.
