STAFF at Friends Provident International in Castletown travelled to work the green way on Friday.
The company held a green travel day to encourage staff to find more environmentally friendly ways of getting to work.
Employees were matched with other colleagues in their area who were willing to car share and were able to calculate the cost saving they could make per year by reducing their car use.
Representatives from the Bus Vannin visited the company's headquarters to help a number of staff members with planning bus routes and choosing the most cost effective tickets.
Bicycle shop Eurocycles was also represented and staff were on hand to answer questions about cycling to work and bike maintenance.
Friends Provident is a partner sponsor of this year’s Commonwealth Youth Games and will be offering volunteer support at the event. The company will give up half of their parking spaces on Monday, September 12, for the Castletown Cultural Day.
Jonathan Hall, general manager and director of Friends Provident International, said: "We're keen for our partnership with the Commonwealth Youth Games to have lasting benefits for the Island, our employees and the environment.
"It's often a concern that car sharing or using public transport will be less convenient than travelling in your own car but there are many benefits.
"By highlighting these benefits at our event last week and giving our employees the incentive to try greener ways of getting to work for the Castletown Cultural Day we're confident some may choose to travel this way in the longer term."
