A local student embarks on the biggest journey of her life today (Saturday).
Jennie Mitchell from Lonan was picked for this year's Ella Olesen Scholarship, which gives Manx-educated girls the chance to study in the United States.
The English literature graduate is leaving for Idaho University for a year.
She will be greeted in the town of Moscow by an American family, who will help her find her feet in the country.
