AN exhibition of art by young people in care is on display at the Legislative Buildings in Finch Road, Douglas.
Young people from across St Christopher's (Isle of Man) have created the work which is available to view at the Tynwald exhibition space, in the Tynwald library on the ground floor, until August 29.
The project aims to increase understanding and awareness of the emotional and mental experiences that young people in care have been through but are unable to express in words.
A spokesman said: "The opportunity to use art to express themselves will not only be an insight for the public but it has also proved to be of huge benefit to the young people.
"They were able to discuss feelings and translate them into colours - red for warmth and energy, pink for love and romance, blue for tranquility, green for nature and the environment, grey for security, white for peace and black for anger and fear.
"Communication is so important for these young people who often feel that they are not listened to and their voices not heard.
"At St Christopher's we are always looking at new ways to communicate, be it through film, music or art.
"The young people worked together as a team to produce some excellent art."
St Christopher's provides fostering, children's homes and a range of housing and support services across England and the Isle of Man.
