New stand to accomodate Commonwealth swimming fans

ADDITIONAL tickets have been released for the swimming events at this year's Commonwealth Youth Games.

 

Due to demand a temporary stand will be erected at the National Sports Centre in Douglas to accommodate spectators.

 

David Cretney MHK, Community, Culture and Leisure Minister, said: "I am delighted that the Commonwealth Youth Games are proving so popular particularly in bringing so many people to the Island.

 

"With just a month to go until the games begin I encourage everyone in the Island to get behind team Isle of Man as they compete against the best young athletes in the Commonwealth.

 

"Tickets are selling fast so if you want to guarantee your seat at our games book your tickets now."

 

Tickets for the gymnastics events are sold out and there are a limited number available for the badminton competitions. There are also a limited number of tickets available for the athletics events in the NSC grandstand.

 

The Commonwealth Youth Games take place between September 7 and September 13. For full ticket information contact the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, the Villa Marina reception or the ticket hotline on 01624 600555.
