DALTON Street - between Auckland Grove Lane and Windsor Road -  and Richmond Grove in Douglas will be closed for a few days next week while essential gas main renewal works take place.

They will be shut between 6am on Monday (August 15) and 6am on Saturday (August 20).

Parking will be suspended on these sections for the duration of the works and the one-way traffic system along Dalton Street will also be suspended.

Manx Gas spokesman Andy Bainton said: "These works are being carried out as part of a programme to replace the older gas mains with new polyethylene pipes that will last for another 100 years.

"We apologise for any inconvenience that this work may cause and if there are any queries regarding the closure please contact our supervisor for the work on 644428 or 644425."
